August 21 – Day of the Argentine Philatelist

On a day like today, August 21, but in 1856, the first postage stamp of our country, printed by the French immigrant, Matías Pipet, began to circulate in the province of Corrientes, at the request of the governor of Corrientes Dr Juan Pujol. In his vignette he had the face of goddess Ceres.
